REBEL TOUR 2010! (including the much-loved REBEL PEDAL!)

Saturday 11th September, Cork City and Sunday 12th September Ballyhoura

It's back! The hugely popular Rebel Pedal! is now part of the even bigger and better REBEL TOUR 2010.

Cork Environmental Forum, Cork Sports Partnership and Ballyhoura Development Association are proud to present the Cork leg of the An Post National Cycling Series over the weekend of 11/12th September.

There will be 4 events, with something for absolutely everyone!

REBEL PEDAL! 2010

The Rebel Pedal Family Fun Ride returns to the streets of Cork once again! 400 brave souls burnt the rain off the streets of the city last year as the sun caught up with them on their arrival at the Atlantic Pond for the after party. A slightly extended route this year will take in more of Cork's beautiful city centre (details soon).

REGISTRATION: 11am Grand Parade
START: 12pm sharp
DISTANCE: 8km
CHILDREN U16: Only 3 per accompanying adult
PARTY: Starts 1pm in Cork City Showgrounds (enter from Monahan Road)

This is the event for you if you love cycling and want to be bright, colourful and noisy for a day! This will be the 10th annual CEF ride around Cork City and the best yet!

The Rebel Pedal will start on the Grand Parade at 12pm, 11th September. Registration (which is required) will be taken on the morning, so please make sure you get there in plenty of time. If you are planning to participate as part of a large group (i.e. 10 or more) we ask you to get in touch with us beforehand.

PLEASE NOTE THAT U16s MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT - NO MORE THAN 3 U16s PER ADULT PLEASE!

REBEL RIDER! 80km Cruise

REBEL RUSH! Off-road

On Sunday the 12th of September the Rebel Tour will roll in to the Ballyhoura Region where the second of our event days takes place. The Ballyhoura forest will be alive with Mountain bikers, food stalls and music. The Rebel Rush presents cyclists and mountain bikers with a choice of three trails: The Greenwood Loop (6km- Easy), The Mountrussel Loop (17km- Moderate) and the Garrane Loop (35km- Difficult). The Ballyhoura trails present riders with a combination of narrow single-track and boardwalk sections and also has sections of forest road climbs over short and long distances. The loops are way marked in one direction- so just pick the colour of the loop you want to ride and follow the arrows.

This is a pre-registration only event which can all be done on the Cork Sports Partnership website.
