The 2009 County Development Plan outlines a development strategy for the whole county of Cork (not including the City).

Cork City Development Plan 2009-2015

The City Development Plan is currently in the process of being updated. This link brings you to the draft version of the new plan which is due to be published shortly.

Cork Area Strategic Plan (CASP) 2001-2020

The Cork Area Strategic Plan is a framework to enable Cork to become a leading European city region - globally competitive, socially inclusive and culturally enriched. The plan is currently being updated and is due for publication shortly.

Ireland's National Development Plan

Ireland's National Spatial Strategy (including Atlantic Gateways Initiative)

The National Spatial Strategy is a coherent national planning framework for Ireland for the next 20 years. The NSS aims to achieve a better balance of social, economic and physical development across Ireland, supported by more effective planning. In order to drive development in the regions, the NSS proposes that areas of sufficient scale and critical mass will be built up through a network of gateways and hubs.

European Water Framework Directive

In October 2000, the "Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for the Community action in the field of water policy" or, in short, the EU Water Framework Directive (or even shorter the WFD) was finally adopted.
